Wakulla.com Partners With the Wakulla County Sheriff's Department for Email Emergency Notifications for Local Residents and Land Owners
Wakulla County, Florida (PRWEB) November 4, 2005 -- www.Wakulla.com and Sheriff David Harvey today announced the availability of a new emergency notification service for residents and land owners of Wakulla County Florida. The service “Wakulla Alert” will give the Sheriff Department’s, Division of Emergency Management one more way to communicate with residents in the Wakulla County Florida area.
Wakulla Alert will allow citizens to receive email notifications about emergencies such as fire, flood, hurricane preparedness, man-made and natural disasters, advisories or missing person alerts. Detailed copies of all notices and advisories will be stored and available online at http://www.Wakulla.com.
The service will keep local Wakulla County residents informed on the status of emergencies and allow the Division of Emergency Management to quickly broadcast answers to frequently asked questions such as “Is it time to evacuate? “ “Can I return to my home yet?” “What’s the best evacuation route?” “What should I do to prepare for man-made and natural disasters?.” The service gives the Emergency Management Division one more method of providing notification and information to Wakulla County citizens.
Wakulla Alert is free and registration is simple - residents can sign up by visiting www.wakulla.com and entering their name and email address in the “Newsletter & Alerts” module and selecting “Wakulla Emergency Notification.”
“This rounds out our warning system for emergency preparedness, continuity planning and disaster recovery where response times are important. The faster we can notify people in an emergency situation, the faster they can respond, or stop worrying and calling for information.” said Joe Blanchard, Wakulla County Director of Emergency Management
